Electronic Ireland
My Role: Composer / Sound Designer
Supervision: ArkOne Studio
Company: Vibragaming
After analyzing the style, I start with a stage of improvisation using guitar and voice. As I delve deeper into the style, I write down the ideas I like best on paper. Then, I transcribe these ideas into Sibelius, where I create the initial arrangements and harmonizations. Next, I set up an orchestration template in my DAW, which is Reaper, and perform all the instruments using my controller. If the music requires guitars and basses, I also record those personally.
«Electronic Ireland»: A blend of the traditional and the futuristic, where electronic sounds intertwine with melodies inspired by Celtic music. This mood seeks to capture the essence of Ireland through a modern lens, using both dance music beats and echoes of soundscapes inspired by the Irish mountains and coastlines, while maintaining the traditional festive atmosphere.

«Mexican Creepy»: An atmosphere that blends the rich Mexican cultural tradition with a dark, surreal touch, inspired by Tim Burton and Danny Elfman. The story follows a mariachi calaca, a lovesick skeleton, who plays romantic ballads every night in a small Mexican town, trying to reach his still-living beloved. Amidst this somber setting, the iconic «Cielito Lindo» resonates, performed with trumpets and transformed to fit this world of love and mystery, where the traditional meets the macabre.

«Horror Music»:I created a tense and dark atmosphere that reflects the constant danger and desperation in a world devastated by the plague. The music blends electronic and orchestral elements, with deep, pulsating synthesizers driving the rhythm of the chase, while distorted strings add a touch of suspense.
For the more intense scenes, I used deep percussion and fast-paced rhythms, accompanied by metallic sounds and ominous resonances, creating a sense of urgency and imminent danger. The lower tension moments include eerie ambient sounds like whistling wind, distant creature noises, and creaking sounds that suggest a nearby threat.
Regarding sound design, every movement of the zombies is accompanied by guttural growls and flesh-tearing sounds, with sound effects that vary depending on the proximity and size of the enemy, enhancing the player’s immersion. The weapon and explosion sounds are impactful and heavy, with layers of reverb that add realism and weight to the combat.
